This interesting Activity Group will be run by David Cogger, who ran a similar group in Sandbach for 10yrs.   Resuming in the Autumn 2019.

 

HISTORY AT RANDOM          

This course, as its name suggests, is not a series of linked talks covering a prescribed area of history.  Rather, it is a series of stand-alone talks covering a wide variety of historical topics – local, national and international.

They will cover individual periods of history (eg the Vikings); the development of specific places (eg Nantwich, South Wales) and particular topics (eg Bridges, Woodland).  Each will give an outline of the topic’s history and its importance.

It is intended to give ten fortnightly sessions from early October to March.  They will take place on Thursday afternoons in the main hall of the Methodist church.  David will talk for about an hour with a break for refreshments, members questions and participation will be welcomed.
