French to Get By

FTGB is aimed at those who wish to brush up their everyday French as well as those who have little or no previous knowledge of the language.

The initial meeting of those interested established that they would like to work on modular units, rather than take a grammatical approach, learning and practising vocabulary for particular situations. Most of these would, of course, occur whilst on holiday or travelling in France.

The areas of study are chosen, and frequently led, by the group members. They have included interesting aspects of French culture as well as new vocabulary and sentence structures.

We have recently started to use audio-visual aids which add interest to our studies and we benefit from hearing native French speakers.

We meet on Thursdays, from 10 to 11.30 in room 4 at the Methodist Church Centre.
